Ashnola Valley Fire creeping towards Keremeos

This picture was taken on Saturday, August 21st.

Fire near Keremeos

This fire is up the Ashnola Valley.

Fire near Spotted Lake

This fire burned about a month ago and some people in nearby houses were evacuated for a short time.

Fire near Kelowna in 2003

This is the fire of 2003 that burned down all the trestles near Kelowna. It was good to see the new growth that has taken place since then.

Ice fishing on Yellow Lake

This picture was taken the first day of winter, December 21st. This is the first time I've seen people out on the lake and I'm always amazed that the ice will hold them this early in the season.

This is the packed earth building at the Cultural Centre. You can sit and watch little movies of native myths and legends, wander through a village and watch a rattlesnake show (complete with rattlesnake). At the other end is a vineyard and high-end winery.

This sculpture is at the entrance to the NK'MIP (we say 'inkameep') Cultural Centre in Osoyoos. Osoyoos is a border town, hence the Canadian and U.S. flags.
